The Program

The Georgia State University Department of English offers an undergraduate concentration in Creative Writing; a Master of Arts in English, Concentration in Creative Writing; a studio/academic Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing; and a Ph.D. in Creative Writing for students who can demonstrate that they have a serious commitment to writing fiction or poetry. It is the aim of the creative writing program to offer a degree that will provide the graduate with the skills to succeed as a writer and the knowledge, desire, and understanding to continue as a successful writer and teacher of writing once the student's degree program at Georgia State has been completed.
